About Us

The original Michael Harrington family farms are located at the confluence of the Missouri and Sioux Rivers. Having emigrated from Ireland in the 1850’s, they settled in the small farm community of Salix, Iowa.

Aileen Harrington Sterling brought her young family back to these Midwest farms each summer to share the farm life she lived as a girl. The summers spent there kindled in her children a deep appreciation for stewardship and love of the land.

We began growing shade and flowering trees in Boise in 1985. Located near Star, Idaho, we are growing over 55 varieties of field grown, machine dug caliper trees. And in that original Harrington tradition we are committed to provide quality shade and flowering trees to the wholesale nursery and landscape trade.
